Premier League – 22/23 FPL GW3 wrap up

While Leeds United secured an eye-opening win over Chelsea and Manchester United surprisingly managed to get their first victory of the season at the expense of Liverpool, it was Newcastle United’s 3-3 draw with Manchester City that was the standout match of game week three. Pep Guardiola’s side had to squeeze every bit of quality out of their impressive side to get a draw with the Magpies, who looked fearless against last season’s champions.

Totally Buzzed’s 22/23 FPL GW3 – League Summary – Current Standings

With some shock results occurring in the Premier League, it once again saw the top 10 in Totally Buzzed’s FPL get a shake-up. In fact, only Team Mine is Gold managed to stay in the same place, with them sitting fourth for a consecutive week. Team Superteds Barmy Army moved into first but can’t rest easy as they’re only two points clear of second-placed Team Alexa Blissett and three points clear of third-placed Team FlynHigh.

As for this week’s highest scorer in the league, they can also be found in the table’s top 10. Team Chaplin Fc racked up an impressive 81 points, which was enough to shoot them into 8th. Team Chaplin Fc benefitted from backing Arsenal trio William Saliba, Martin Odegaard, and Gabriel Jesus as they achieved a combined score of 34 points.

While it was a good week for Team Chaplin FC, it was a disappointing week for Team Cheslin who slipped into our league’s bottom three, joining Team Lyn and Team Fox City respectively. Team Cheslin only managed to score 30 points, due to their defence performing poorly. Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joao Cancelo both contributed 0 points to the cause, while Kalidou Koulibaly ended the weekend on a -2 due to getting a red card in Chelsea’s loss to Leeds.

Yet it’s only been three weeks, so there’s plenty of time for those three teams to move up the table, as FPL is a marathon, not a sprint. Be sure to check out Totally Buzzed’s football podcast Football Beef that will see audio updates on our FPL League coming in the near future.
