Premier League – 22/23 FPL GW2 wrap up

There were so many memorable moments in week two of the Premier League and in any other week Brentford’s emphatic victory over Manchester United would have been the highlight match. However, given that stopped being a competitive match in the first-half, sorry United fans, the standout game has to be Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham. Not only did the Battle At The Bridge have late-goal drama, but it also had tensions boiling over on and on the pitch, which led to everyone grabbing the popcorn.

Other results:

Aston Villa 2 – 1 Everton

Southampton 2 – 2 Leeds United

Arsenal 4 – 2 Leicester City

Brighton 0 – 0 Newcastle United

Manchester City 4 – 0 Bournemouth

Wolves 0 – 0 Fulham

Brentford 4 – 0 Manchester United

Nottingham Forest 1 -0 West Ham

Liverpool 1 – 1 Crystal Palace

Totally Buzzed’s 22/23 FPL GW2 – League Summary

Given it is only week two in Totally Buzzed’s FPL League, the table is far from being settled. This is shown by the fact that not one team in the top 10 stayed in the same spot. Team PALMWINE FC and Team Kolo Tayo FC moved joint top of the table and sit on 156 points, while last season’s champion Team Oil Can’t Buy sit just four points behind them on 151 points.

Yet while all three of these teams had an impressive week to reach their high positions, no one scored more than Team The Sweet P’s. Team The Sweet P’s scored an impressive 90 points with them benefiting from having Gabriel Jesus, who scored 19 points, and captaining Kevin De Bruyne who ended up contributing 28 points to their cause. So while they currently sit 15th, they may be a team to keep an eye out for in the coming weeks.

As for the bottom of the table, that also got a shake-up due to some late comers joining. Team That Guy and Team Aces and eights both racked up respectable scores, but without a GW1 score behind them, it saw them prop up the table in GW2. Team Fox City was bottom last week and while their gamble to take a -20 on transfers and triple captain Heung-Min Son backfired, they can take solace in the fact they’re no longer bottom.

Yet it’s only been two weeks, so there’s plenty of time for those three teams to move up the table, as FPL is a marathon, not a sprint. Be sure to check out Totally Buzzed’s football podcast Football Beef that will see audio updates on our FPL League coming in the near future.
