This story, which was featured on Gizmodo.com as well as DailyMail.co.uk, shares how Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison spoke out publicly to deny an urban myth that he didn’t have a bathroom accident at a McDonald’s after attending a rugby match in 1997. Kayleigh and Laura discuss the randomness of denouncing this rumour that has sparked memes and jokes alike, given that it has been circulating the interwebs since 2018.
2. “Scots cop called officers for help after being pursued by drone but dot in sky was actually Jupiter”
This story, which was featured on the Dailyrecord.co.uk, shares how a young rookie cop believed a drone was following them, only to be informed that they had mistaken the planet Jupiter for a drone. That’s planet Jupiter which is approximately 365 million miles away. Kayleigh and Laura discuss the potential embarrassment of the situation, but also share how easy it is to mistake objects for items that are completely unrelated.
3. “I’m too busy to fly into space with Jeff Bezos, says £20m auction winner”
This story, which was featured on the Telegraph.co.uk, details how someone who had paid $28million to be on Jeff Bezo’s company Blue Origin’s inaugural space tourism flight couldn’t make it due to a scheduling conflict. Kayleigh and Laura discuss what could possibly make someone too busy to fly to space after splashing such a high amount of money.
Since recording, Jeff Bezo successfully completed his first space flight.
