Manchester United defender Luke Shaw had fans singing his praises on Twitter following his performance in England’s 4-0 win over Ukraine at Euro 2020 on Saturday night.
The United left-back racked up two assists during his nation’s emphatic win over Ukraine, which helped Gareth Southgate’s side fly through the quarter-finals into the semi-final stage.
One England fan claimed that he had been made to look a fool after Shaw’s latest display as previously he had been highly critical of the defender, while another supporter effectively nicknamed Shaw as ‘Shawberto Carlos’, a tongue-in-cheek reference to football legend Roberto Carlos.
Speaking of Carlos, Shaw was so good in his latest display for England that he even captured the attention of the legendary footballer on Instagram as Carlos commented on the Man United defender’s latest post.

Shaw regularly featured for Manchester United in the 2020/21 campaign as he played 47 times across all competitions, racking up six assists as well as scoring one goal in the process.
The 25-year-old has been at Old Trafford since joining United from Southampton in July 2014 and he is contracted to stay with The Red Devils until 2023.
There is also an option for the club to automatically extended Shaw’s contract by a year, and if the left-back continues to put in displays for club and country like his latest outing, Man United won’t hesitate to trigger their option.
Here is how loads of England fans went wild for Luke Shaw’s latest display on Saturday night in the 4-0 win over Ukraine:

Luke Shaw has really surprised me at this tournament.

England supporters have regularly been impressed by some members of Southgate’s squad during Euro 2020, with the likes of Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka and Leeds United midfield enforcer Kalvin Phillips also garnering praise from social media for recent performances.
Southgate’s side are now set to face Denmark in the semi-finals of Euro 2020 on Wednesday and if they are victorious they’ll either be facing Italy or Spain, depending on the winner of Tuesday’s semi-final.
